B Cup Café Tshirt-Original New York T-shirt

New York City is famous for its coffee shops. When you think about TV shows that take place in New York such as “Seinfeld” or “Sex in the City” or “Friends”, much of the scenes were from the local coffee shop. So if you want a great NYC souvenir tshirt, then what better than a coffee shop t-shirt?

One of my favorites is from B Cup Café. It is a clever design with a coffee cup with the steam cloud coming out in the form of the name and address of the shop. It is a simple design so it doesn’t take up the whole shirt.

The B Cup Café is a neighborhood hangout in the East Village. The type of place the TV shows like to use to show New Yorkers going about their daily lives with their friends.

These authentic New York tshirts cannot be purchased online so they are proof positive that they are an authentic NYC gift or souvenir. No we do not know if the name of the shop has anything to do with bra sizes of the patrons, but we are sure all shapes and sizes are welcome.

McSorley’s Old Ale House: NYC’s Oldest also Sells Original McSorley’s NY tshirts

If you are going to collect NYC T-shirts from Old Irish pubs, then you will want the one from McSorley’s Ole Ale House. Two reasons:

1. It is the oldest Irish Pub in the city still in operation
2. It has a picture of the bar from back in the day on the front of the shirt.

The McSorley’s tshirt is a front and back tshirt with who I assume is the original owner on the back of the tshirt. While this original NY tshirt makes an excellent NYC souvenir, you will want to go to McSorley’s and buy one along with a mug of their original McSorley’s Ale.

If you look close enough at the picture, you will see handcuffs that belonged the famous magician, Harry Houdini. How cool is that?

McGee’s Pub and Restaurant T-Shirt

One great place to purchase an authentic NY tshirt is McGee’s Pub and Restaurant, the inspiration for “McLaren’s Pub” on the hit TV show “How I Met Your Mother”.

The t-shirt I like the most is the black “LEGEN…wait for it…DARY!” t-shirt which IDs that you watch the show. It is the catch phrase of Neil Patrick Harris’ character, Barney Stinson, who uses the pub as his haunt to pick up women.

An original New York tshirt from McGee’s is a good conversation starter and a cool New York souvenir for any visitor. Everyone knows HIMYM, but few probably realize “McLaren’s” is a real place. If you are in NYC and are looking for a cool gift to bring back home, what better for the HYMIM fan than a tshirt from his or her favorite show? That is the perfect NY gift.

Unfortunately, (or fortunately for the collector) you have to go to McGee’s to purchase one of these genuine NY tshirts because they are not available online.
